Born in Louisville, KY, she grew up in Upstate New York. She’s been an avid reader from a very early age and has never stopped. Her favorites have always been mystery and intrigue with some romance thrown in. She graduated high school and decided to leave Upstate New York to see what else was out there. She’s spent time living in Florida, Mississippi with a few short stops back to New York between jobs before settling down to raise three children in Upstate New York. Once her daughter and two sons were out of the nest, she relocated to Northern Colorado.
Her various jobs exposed her to a variety of people, cultures and industries. Her jobs ranged from checking newspaper obits for an insurance company to being the secretary for the Dept. of International Studies for Cuba and the Caribbean at the University of Miami. She worked also worked as a legal secretary, secretary for the New York State Power Authority, business office clerk at a motel on the Gulf Cost, and secretary in the Human Resources Dept. of a hospital, all before finally settling down to work for 28 years at a newspaper in Upstate New York. While with the newspaper, she worked in both the Advertising and Production departments. A good amount of her time was spent proofing copy before it went to print. You don’t spend twenty-eight years as an Administrative Assistant without knowing the ins and outs of grammar and punctuation. It’s part of the job to be able to make your superiors look good.
All of these experiences have given her a vast vocabulary and an understanding of different industries and people, all of which work well with editing fictional manuscripts. Whether your hero/heroine works in the newspaper industry or on an oil rig, she can make sure the jargon is correct.
Since relocating to Colorado, she has worked at an oil company and a real estate management office, in addition to her freelance editing.
